  1. Aldrich Astronomical Society Incorporated - NASA Solar System Ambassadors

The NASA Solar System Ambassadors Program is a public outreach program designed to work with motivated volunteers across the nation. These volunteers communicate the excitement of JPL's space exploration missions and information about recent discoveries to people in their local communities. Aldrich Astronomical Society Inc. has within its ranks four NASA Solar System Ambassadors. Clicking on their images below will take you to their full NASA profiles.

  1. Ambassador Jim Zebrowski

Jim Zebrowski is a technical support person on second shift in local firm called Advanced Micro-Sensors, Inc. which has Class 100 clean room facilities in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and is a growing supplier of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS)related products and magneto-resistive (MR) tape heads.


He is very active in his local Astronomy Club, Aldrich Astronomical Society Inc. and participates in many free public outreach events in conjunction with fellow club members. His participation in these outreach programs includes volunteering at several organizations like the EcoTarium in Worcester, Massachusetts, the Arunah Hill Natural Science Center in Cummington, Massachusetts, and as well many talks to groups like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

  1. Ambassador B. Chuck Card

Bruce Card is very active in his local Astronomy Club, the Aldrich Astronomical Society and participates in many free public outreach events sharing the wonders of space and the night sky. As an ongoing mission of the Aldrich Outreach Program he encourages and supports presentations to schools, libraries, Scout troops and more. Bruce also is an avid enthusiast in space exploration. He strongly believes in the importance and relevance of NASA/JPL space projects. From the first days of Mercury through Gemini, Apollo to today's International Space Station, man's exploration of space either robotically or by manned missions fulfills mans desire to explore. As a Solar Ambassador Bruce hopes to share all these wonders with the public.

  1. Ambassador Bruce Irving

Bruce Irving is an optical engineer. He has a B.S. in physics from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.S. in optics from the University of Rochester and has worked for over twenty-five years for an engineering software company, most recently as international distribution manager. He is also a private pilot and a singer/songwriter. Bruce has developed & distributed space-related educational outreach materials. Bruce writes frequently about space, astronomy, and education in his blog Music of the Spheres.

  1. Ambassador Steve Hammond

Steven Hammond received his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with Highest Honors and High Distinction from the University of Maine. As an undergraduate he did high-performance computing research, mostly global change and climate studies, for the Department of Energy and he continued this work after graduating. He went on to develop some early web applications for the power utility industry and has now moved back to New England where he is a senior manager at a Fortune 500 insurance company.
